Bill & Randi Balt

Bill and I became founding members of the Hunting & Fishing Days Committee after the last year that the State sponsored the event. The next year it was canceled due to lack of staffing. We checked into the possibility of Auroraland Archers sponsoring the Archery area of the event. Other clubs did likewise and so the National Hunting & Fishing Days Committee was formed along with State employee help and a small budget.

I, Randi Balt, run an archery booth that explains basic equipment, local archery clubs, etc…Bill Balt does the deer skinning demonstrations as well as lectures about his book Hunting the Winds, Natures’ Ways’. Auroraland Archers operates a practice range staffed with instructors and equipment for the public to use, and also sponsors and presents “The Northern Pride” archery 3D animal shoot which is attended by archers from area clubs and locals with their own equipment.

While Bill & I are the committee members along with Gary Awalt, we have several members that have worked behind the scenes at every event since joining Auroraland Archers, planning and setting up the ranges or doing whatever they can to help.

We strive to pass on our love of the outdoors to our son and daughter, our 5 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, and anyone else that will listen! To celebrate all that the great Illinois outdoors has to offer.
